Mouse pads are getting more and more high-tech all the time. Depending on your needs and hobbies, there is probably a mouse pad on the market for you. With that in mind, today we are looking at the Qpad Gamer Lowsense mouse pad.
Now, as you can probably guess, this is a pad designed for all you gamers out there. So what does that mean exactly? Well, let’s look at the specs. This is a big mouse pad. Measuring 16” x 11” it’s not the biggest pad out there but it is definitely a contender. Thereby giving you lots of room to slide your mouse all over the place without having to worry about falling off the pad. Add to that the fact that it a rubber and cloth pad and you have optimal portability. Actually, for all you LAN gamers out there, the Gamer shipped in a nice plastic tube which makes it so much more practical when moving around. No more rolling your pad up and sticking it in a bag or in the case of a plastic, metal or glass pad, having to stick it in a backpack. The Gamer can just be stuck back into the original packaging and brought where ever the games may be.
The cloth surface of the Gamer is also specially coated for a low friction, gliding sensation when moving your mouse. If you have never tried a low friction mouse pad then you are in for a treat. I never expected to see much of a difference between mouse pads but I can’t go back now. In the gaming world speed and accuracy is everything. The smoother your mouse glides the faster you can move and with the Qpad Gamer Lowsense your mouse glides with incredible ease.
I actually tested it in two different ways. The Gamer ships with Teflon tape which you attach to the feet of your mouse in order to reduce friction even more. I tested the pad without the tape and with it in order to see if there was really that much of a difference. Long story short, Yes. I really like the tape that comes with the Gamer. It’s thicker than other tapes I have seen (which hopefully means it will last longer) and it is really easy to apply. Without the tape my mouse glided over the pad with ease. I would have been happy as is but once I added the tape, a whole new world opened up. Amazing what a bit of Teflon tape can do. Suddenly it was as if the mouse was frictionless. The slightest twitch was recognized immediately and I was able to make very precise movements.
Overall, this is a fine product for all you gamers out there. Portable, large and incredibly smooth it might give you that extra competitive edge online or at your next LAN party.
