Crystal Neon Mouse

Product: Mouse
Reviewer: Goblin

As time goes on it seems that more and more mods are being manufactured to light up the inside of your computer case. So, it was just a matter of time before someone decided to start illuminating the peripherals. Today we are going to take a look at the Crystal Neon Mouse. This optical mouse is supposed to light up like no mouse we have ever seen. So today we are going to put it to the test.

The first thing we noticed right out of the box is the fact that this mouse looks very sleek. A nice smooth teardrop shape that was made to fit your hand comfortably. Then came the second observation…..um, where are the buttons? With the exception of a scroll wheel/third button in the center of the mouse, this mouse is clean. The left and right buttons have been incorporated into the mouse itself. According to the box, if you lean the mouse to the left, you will effectively left click. Lean the mouse to the right and you right click. This was a new concept for us, so we just had to try it out.

The package includes the mouse itself, a minidisk of drivers and shortcuts to program the scroll wheel button and a USB to PS/2 adapter for those of you out there whose USB ports are at a premium. This adapter was a nice touch and showed that some thought went into who would be using this product and how the product could be made more user friendly.

So, we plugged the mouse in and XP recognized it immediately (nice start!). This mouse is bright. Every time you move the Crystal mouse the LEDs turn on. Stop moving and they shut themselves off. These pictures don’t really do the Crystal mouse justice but at least they give you an idea of how bright this mouse can be.
