Well, the answer is no. Turns out that you can disable protection to portions of your hard drive where changes are made often and leave the protection enabled for others. Fantastic. Then, the more I used this card the more I began to rely on it. In the review business, things are changed on a daily basis. Hardware and software is added and removed. Settings are changed and generally our test computers are never the same. The Armor Card has given us a very clean and efficient way to return to a testing baseline every time we reboot. This allows for a lot more precision in a lot less time.

So, overall, is it worth it? Depends. If you’re a reviewer then absolutely. If you have computers open to the public I would highly recommend it and for any of you out there who like to tinker with your computers in anyway, go on the internet and have any other chance of getting a virus or corrupt operating files the Jackson Armor card is cheap insurance. Now don’t go removing all you anti-spyware and antivirus protection if you buy the Armor card. This card is a tool to help make a full system recovery easier in the event of system corruption. You are still responsible for your own system’s security.

Pros:

• Easy install
• Removes uninstalled programs which are not completely removed
• Recovery is as easy as rebooting the computer.
• Removes the threat of spyware and viruses.
• Protects CMOS & BIOS
• Able to choose area you want protected.
Cons:

• Instructions are not very clear when installing.
