Speeze Coppersnake 3

Company: Speeze
Product: Heatsink
Reviewer: Goblin

Speeze has been in the cooling products game for a number of years. With this sort of pedigree we were really excited when we received this cooler. First of all, i just wanted to point out that Speeze has some of the coolest names for Heatsink/Fans (HSF) i have ever seen. This model is designed for the Intel Pentium 4 and it is called the Coppersnake III. Gone are the days of product numbers. Now, even our HSF have names!

So, let’s get right down to business. Our first impressions were favourable to say the least. This unit came in a cardboard box with a plastic shield to protect the bottom of the heatsink. Included in the box was a Speeze badge (to stick where ever you like) a tube of thermal paste, mounting clips and an instruction sheet. I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again; i really wish EVERYONE would include instructions with their products. I know it’s a reasonably simple install but for someone out there it will always be their first time and extra help never hurt anyone. Including everything you would need to install the HSF is also a nice touch. Don’t have thermal paste? Well, it’s included. It’s always nice to see companies that go the extra mile to give a personal touch to their products.

Next comes the HSF itself. I really like the look of this hsf. The inverted spider fan on the top gives the product a really unique look which really comes though once the product is mounted (those of you with windows will appreciate the design). My next impression was...wow! This is one solid hsf. It’s larger than Speeze’s AMD version (the VultureSpin III) and it has a nice solid feel to it. Here are the specs straight off Speeze’s website:
