As you might have noticed, we at HardwareHounds had a chance to test out the Coolforce GPU cooler not so long ago. Now, thanks once again to the fine people at Spire coolers, we have the chance to evaluate the next generation...the Coolforce II.
First things first let’s take a look at the stats:
Dimensions: 88 x 65 x 15.7 mm
Fan Dimensions: 45x45x10mm
Fan Type: 12 DCV Red & Yellow LED fan
Bearing Ball Bearing
Rated Speed: 5500 RPM +/-10%
Noise Level: 23.0 dBA
Air Flow: 8.6 CFM at 5500 RPM
Current: 0.15 A
Life Hours: 50,000
Connector Type: 2 pin
Wire Length: 200mm
Thermal Interface: Thermal Sticker
Application: nVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 / 4200 8X / 4400 / 4600 / 4800, GeForce FX 5600 ULTRA
As you can see, this definitely moves more air than a stock GPU cooler and it does it quite quietly.
The first thing we noticed with this cooler is that it is even larger than the original coolforce. Actually, we shouldn’t say that. The fan itself is the same size but with a change in the mounting setup, it appears larger. The mounting points now extend from the fan, making it much easier to mount on your card. Visually, this is an impressive GPU cooler. Solid copper with yellow and red lights (nice little bit of eye candy), this cooler looks great. Add to that the fact that this cooler runs at a discreet 23dBA and you will be able to drop your temperatures without raising the noise level.
