Coolmax Chameleon Fan

Company: Coolmax Chameleon Fan
Product: LED Fan
Reviewer: Goblin

LED fans are nothing new and the truth is, nothing to really get excited about anymore. At least that was what l thought before l received Coolmax’s Chameleon fan. The package itself is pretty standard. The fan comes with a bag of 4 mounting screws and a pass through molex adapter with an attached wire for rpm monitoring.

Installation was a snap. Nothing fancy, just screw the fan in with the provided screws, plug in the adapter and you are good to go. After booting up, a few things became immediately clear. This fan is bright! Forget about a soft, gentle glow emanating from your case, this fan is made to be seen.

The Chameleon fan changes from red to green to blue. What is unique with this fan is the range of colours in between. This isn’t a quick change but a nice fluid transition from one colour to the next. Thereby giving a whole range of colours that l don’t think l could name if l tried.

As you can see by the specs listed below, this fan moves a fair amount of air. It’s not just for show; it’s there to do a job. Of course, it’s not the quietest fan on the market but lets be honest, if you are in the market for a fan like this it is not sound levels you’re looking at.

Fan dimension: 80x80x25mm Voltage: 12V Fan speed: 3000 RPM Air flow: 41.41 CFM Noise level: 32dBa

All in all, Coolmax’s Chameleon fan delivered in a big way. It is a simple, easy to install fan that moves a lot of air and looks good doing it. No extra bells or whistles, just a simple to install fan that will give your case that unique look you’ve been looking for.

Pros:
• Easy to install
• Pass through molex
• Vivid colours
• Nice transition form one colour to the next
• Moves a fair amount of air

Cons:
• A bit noisy (but nothing drastic)
